PERMIT RECEIVER

A Permit Receiver is a trained and authorized person responsible for accepting and executing work under a Permit to Work (PTW) system. The Permit Receiver ensures that all safety precautions mentioned in the permit are clearly understood and properly implemented before and during the work.

The main role of a Permit Receiver is to carry out the job safely as per the conditions specified in the permit and to coordinate with the Permit Issuer and safety team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand the scope of work and hazards involved
• Verify all safety precautions before starting the job
• Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Communicate safety instructions to the work team
• Maintain compliance with permit conditions
• Stop work if unsafe conditions arise
• Close the permit after completion of work

Importance:

The Permit Receiver plays a critical role in preventing accidents, especially in high-risk activities like confined space entry, hot work, electrical work, and work at height.
